LeonaBlanche House
LeonaBlanche
house is home to 53 formerly homeless New Yorkers who cope with mental
illness. This residence is a hybrid of supportive housing models,
providing clinical services within a setting that promotes independence
and self-sufficiency. In-house services available to residents include
psychiatry, nursing, and case management. Residents share communal
spaces although each resident has his/her own private room. Residents
receive disability payments and some are employed in part-time or
stipend work. LeonaBlanche house was completed in 2004 with financing
from New York State Office of Mental Health.
