In April 2002, Aeon began a $2.4 million renovation of Pine Cliff Apartments, a 30-unit apartment building on the corner of 5th Avenue and 19th Street in Minneapolis. The renovation was carefully phased to allow residents to remain in most of the building; apartments were renovated one floor at a time.

In the renovation, Aeon added windows facing the street and parking lot, well-lit common spaces, and clearly defined boundaries between public, semi-public and private space.
