Rondo Community Land Trust, a community-based affordable housing land trust operating in St. Paul and Ramsey County, built these two houses in 2000-2001. They are located in the Rondo neighborhood of St. Paul, and were built in partnership with Cermak Rhoades Architects, Green Institute, Neighborhood Energy Connection and the Minnesota State office of Environment Administration. Both homes have reclaimed hardwood floors in the living and dining areas. They have air exchange systems and are Energy Star rated. Both homes have remilled interior trim on the first and second floors, remilled exterior trim, and reclaimed interior doors. The blue home is built with Hardie Plank siding that has a life of 50 years, and the yellow home has solar panels to heat hot water.

Rondo CLT is named after Rondo Avenue, a main commerce avenue for the African American community, renamed Concordia Avenue during the construction of interstate 94 in the late 1960s. Rondo CLT continues to promote the preservation of resources for future generations by incorporating sustainable construction, energy efficient technologies and the reuse of building materials into as many of its projects as possible.
