The Village of Harmony Manor

Completed in 2005, The Village of Harmony Manor is located on Fenkell, west of Wyoming in northwest Detroit. This non-profit development is a collaboration of the Michigan Black Presbyterian Caucus, Hope Presbyterian Church, and Presbyterian Villages of Michigan. Funding has been provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the City of Detroit HOME Funds Program. The Village of Harmony Manor has 43 fully-modern 1-bedroom apartments, cable-ready, with wall-to-wall carpeting, emergency call system, individually controlled heating and cooling, and fully equipped kitchens with refrigerator/freezer and stove. It includes specially designed apartments for mobility-impaired residents. Within the village are a kitchen-equipped community room, lounge areas, library, central laundry facilities, and barber/beauty shop. Residents 62 years of age or older and meeting the specified income limits pay 30% of adjusted gross annual income in rent.
