The Roanoke-Lee Street Housing Project

The Roanoke-Lee Street Housing Project consists of 14 duplex units built to Enterprise's Green Communities criteria, the first national green program focused entirely on affordable housing. In addition to the affordable purchase price, each home provides ongoing affordability through life cycle cost savings. Each home is at least 30% more energy efficient than a conventional home, saving
homeowners hundreds of dollars on utility bills annually.

In recognition of Community Housing Partners' efforts to provide energy efficient housing for low-wealth residents, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy awarded this project a 2007 ENERGY STAR® Award for Excellence in Energy-Efficient Affordable Housing. The project also won the Home Depot Foundation's Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing Built Responsibly, a 2007 Best in American Living (BALA)/HUD Secretary's Award for Excellence, and a 2008 Silver EnergyValue Housing Award® (EVHA) in the Affordable Home/ Cold Climate category.
